Reggae Pirate on 87.9?

I caught a what I think is a reggae pirate on 87.9 FM Christmas night. It was on again tonight Dec. 27. Nice signal, rough around the Willowbrook Mall area but was clear on FM 529 near Fry Road. Anyone else heard it?

No, I'm not hearing anything. I'm curious though, was it classic reggae (Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, Judy Mowatt, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff) or the contemporary dancehall reggae?

I have caught the station up near Cypress. my parents live in a subdivision off of Jones and Grant. The signal was very strong on the SUV's radio. I have also had the station on in The Galleria area, meaning this pirate gets out. My guess is the transmitter must be in the Cypress area. Station seems to only be on between 6pm and midnight on the nights it is broadcasting.

On Xmas night it was dancehall, late '90s to current. Today it was all over the place. Bob Marley, early '90s dancehall, etc. Haven't heard any of the older stuff like Tosh/Cliff etc. yet.

Cool. I also heard an open mic on Xmas night. Some guy with a caribean accent announcing the music.

I'm hearing the 87.9 pirate at my Cy-Fair location just after 8pm 12/29. Signal strength varies quite a bit--almost as if they are tweaking the transmitter. The stereo indicator lights up on peaks. I notice that overhead aircraft will briefly enhance the signal, but overall rather crummy reception here.

What about the 87.9 spanish pirate just east of down town anybody here it lately I not heard it in 8 months or so they could have a problem if both of these pirates were runnin at the same time

While we're on the subject, has anyone found a pirate on 88.1, around 59 and 45? Not hispanic, some talk, rap, etc. Just got wind of this today (1/6/07)

They're popping up all over the place. There is a new one at 87.9 in around 45 & Crosstimbers playing expletive rap music. Caught it at a little before 7pm today.

This might be the same pirate just playing differnet music trying to figure out which style to play or it could be the Acres Holmes Community Radio back on 87.9 last it could he the spanish pirate just east of down town playing rap I heard the station one day out near westimer & wilcrest all the way to just near the dome.
