Regina got "Jacked"

> www.Jackfmregina.com/ Bye Bye Classic rock...hello Jack!
> (thank-you Milkman for the info.)

Have you checked out their playlist or listened online? The core of the station is still classic rock. Unlike JACK in Vancouver or Calgary, you won't hear Madonna or Prince. Lots of Supertramp and The Guess Who, just the way Rawlco likes it. FYI, all 4 Rawlco FM stations in Saskatoon & Regina have Supertramp's Breakfast In America on their playlists. Geez, you'd think their consultant once worked with Supertramp.

Ok, I'll word it this way. Bye Bye Classic Rock, hello opportunity to tweak wherever they see fit. They can now play songs that don't fit into a classic rock playlist, but...perhaps(as a guess) also refrain from scaring the classic rocker away.<P ID="signature">______________

Is Rawlco allowed to call this station Jack? I thought Rogers bought the exclusive rights to the whole JACK-FM branding in Canada.

First of all, anybody can have anything if they pay for the rights. Secondly, I'm not exactly sure how this works but Rogers owns a very tiny chunk of Rawlco. Lastly, I believe they use the same consultants (Bohn) who helped create JACK.

I guess the rights are now on a market to market basis because that Jack is no where near another Jack, in respect to local radio content...but again, a guess, respectfully.
