“ExWKLS”, your voice of reason sounds very much like The Mad Pundit himself. I agree with you regarding any violence over a radio show. That’s a bad idea that no one should advocate.

I intend to simply not listen to any Clear Channel owned station from this point forward. I disagree with many of their decisions in 2006. Firing TRG was just the last straw for me. Beyond that, I’ll continue to enjoy my life listening to entertainment from other sources.

I'm not Eric Von Hessler, but I did work at WKLS for six years in the early ninties, during the time of The Wake-Up Crew with Chris Rude (who, by the way, I think would be a great fit in a return to 96rock).

The comment that an earlier poster made that I am "partially illiterate," along with the anti-hispanic rants from at least one other poster, are indicative of the ugliness that I think the Regular Guys too often encouraged. It is adopted by a small portion of their most-devoted listeners, who then respond to any criticism of TRG with the same ugliness.

Violence, while it may be satisfying for a moment leads to a lifetime of regret. If anyone is seriously contemplating revenge over THE REGULAR GUYS...STOP! They, nor are anyone in radio, including Randall Bloomquist, worthy of death. Torture...maybe. Death...no. If you're that angry with this situation, quit listening to radio and do the world a favor.

This has nothing to do with the "coming to America" bit get over it.

People just need to learn to respect people or understand that there could be consequences.

TRG, had been thru a firing before and therefore should have learned from experience.
Doing another stupid thing again just shows a lack of common sense.
These 2 people were so lucky to even get their jobs back the first time, which means they probably knew someone high up in the food chain. Most people who get fired like this may get banned from the business for life.

Regular guys went out like complete suckers, no I dont work for CC, and the idea that someone could even mention that they thought that these guys are now in danger of bodily harm because THEY GOT THE REGULAR GUYS FIRED?..... Well if their audience is THAT fanatical about this hack show then opie and Anthony are correct: The regular guys have stolen EVERYTHING from O and A!. It's a radio show folks, two months from now they'll be forgotten, unless they are swept up by CBS if they happen to flip dave to a Free FM, and regs can do mid days, or maybe afternoons.

Bottom line, two grown men going to the bathroom together no matter what their ethnicity is a tad weird but having said that, you air something illegal (which is where their problems STARTED) and then you out someone on air, or at least imply that they are gay, .......you're fired, period. DO not pass go, do not collect $200, do not blame anyone but yourself for your being pin heads.

TRG are their own worst enemy. It's funny how their listeners can't see the truth right before their eyes. If you record someone and put it on the radio without their permission it is against the law. Thats that.

CC did the right thing by firing these lames AGAIN. Just look at the posts from their ignorant fan base. The hate displayed on this board is really sad.

It's never entertaining to see someone lose their gig but if you tempt fate, then so be it. IF they are as good as their fan base on this board thinks they are then they'll resurface, period. In a time when you KNOW that management is offering nothing but weak, sweaty palmed handshakes to talent when they say "were behind you, we want you to be edgy" you're an ass if you're talent and you dont realize that nobody(management) is putting their necks on the line for talent anymore, NOBODY. Edgy is one thing but now is not the time to try to get away with anything illegal because we're still in the age of zero tolerance. Even O and A are not doing anything to really push the envelope, they're really just riding their reputation because they know that you can't get away with the old rule breaking BS anymore. Illegal airing of a phone call, or conversation didn't come in post Janet Jackson, it has ALWAYS been illegal, always. If they dont know that much, it was not smart to have them on the air in the first place. I mean that is rule number one of radio common sense.

I don't think they will be forgotten in two months. Last time they were gone for a year and people were clamoring for their return the whole time. The only way that happens is if they bring in a show people like and make them forget about the Regular Guys. What's the chance CC does that. Two months from now we may still have Fin spinning records. A disaster waiting to happen. Maybe some fill-in syndication like MJ lets hope not but I believe it is his old boss now in charge here or Lex and Terry. They probably make the most sense since of course they accused TRG of ripping off their act.

I have no idea where you may live, but here's a valid question. If you lived in Gwinnett county and you had Three Radio Stations, and all were hispanic, would you not be the least bit pissed? I am aware that there is sattilite delivered radio, there's also HD radio, Hell there is even IPOD"S, but comon, we dont even have a radio station here in Gwinnett that's local area focused anymore.. All we have are three stations that can't be understood unless your of the spanish decent. Sorry does not work for me, and come licence renewal time, I will be there with alot of others protesting this very fact...

Get it straight Jethro, there are as many hispanic targeted stations because they're making more money doing that than they perceive that they could doing anything else. No one is broadcasting in spanish out of the goodness of their hearts, they are trying to make DINERO!!!!!!. Would your argument be the same if you were a rock fan and there were several country stations that come into your listening area? probably not but then again maybe so. Either way it is not about anything but bucks kid, wake up and smell the chorizo. Any letter that you send bitching about there being too many hispanic stations at renewal time and there not being enough english speaking stations targeting regular Americans will be met with a response of " this red neck crackpot, put his name in the nut case file". However, if a spanish station is serving it's audience/community, then it's doing the job it set out to do.

i have found myself liking Lex and Terry on my XM. They would be a good fit for the slot, if CC can pull it off.
They have good bits: the running of the bums ( where thier overweight producer runs from homeless while wearing a suit made of dollar bills ), to smell the truth, meal or no meal, etc. Good sports guy, female news reader, the works.

i'm curious.. the bathroom bit has been done many times over the years but i've never heard of lawsuits and firings over it. is it because their names were mentioned on air? i've also heard that yogi and panda were actually calling larry names in spanish while taking their dumps.. does this matter?

one more thing.. it seems like everyone on this board is shocked by what happened but i have to say that many and i mean many other more harmful and mean spirited things have been done to people on the air and nothing was ever done about it. is this a case where CC was just plain scared about getting sued by 2 employees over racial issues?
