REJOICE 92.5

Yes, they have flipped back to black gospel. Based on the ratings of the late "Hallelujah 92.7", it can be successful in Jacksonville. However, the signal is very weak in most of Duval County but it can be enhanced if they move their signal closer to Jacksonville. Since the FCC has just granted a construction permit license to move WROO (the former home of Hallelujah 92.7) to Flagler County and to upgrade and move the signal of WJBT, this would be an excellent time for the owners of WFJO to put in an application to the FCC to move their transmitter closer to Duval County in order to increase their audience, which will hopefully turn a profit for them in the long-term.

There is a 92.5 in Alachua (Gainesville) that may prevent them from moving much to the south. It's part of Wind-FM.

I guess I'm a little out of the loop, what's running on 92.7 now?

Also, a move slightly to the South I don't THINK would be rejected it if were South and EAST... where is the resident engineer to answer this question? :)

WROO (92.7) is now owned by Flagler County Broadcasting, which also owns news/talk station WNZF (1550 AM) in Bunnell/Palm Coast, FL. They purchased the station from Aloha Station Trust (Clear Channel) for about $350,000 in November 2008.

They might as well keep the tower in the present location. This will not fly in Jacksonville. The Rejoice format is on a portion of the day, with the remainder devoted to Hope Radio, a lot of preaching and talk related to Hope Church. With 92.7 moving, Urban Gospel or an Urban format is a good choice for that station. The signal will greatly improve, even without a tower/ transmitter move. It needs to be programmed correctly. This is not the same caliber programming as WROO was, even if it was a gospel jukebox. It's as mixed up as the 105.5/ 105.7 simulcast. However, I hope the station does well.

Well, it looks like Tama is planning to move the transmitter of WFJO closer to Jacksonville. Today, they put in an application to the FCC to move the station to Jacksonville Beach, FL, but the transmitter will be located at the Hogan Rd. antenna farm on the Southside of Jacksonville. However, it will have a directional antenna in order to protect WNDT in Alachua (Gainesville), FL. After the station moves into the Jacksonville area, the gospel station has a chance to become very successful if programmed correctly. For gospel music fans in Jacksonville, it is time to REJOICE!!!! Here is a link to the application on the FCC website: http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?stat...&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9

Don't forget, any WFJO move will also have to clear WJXR-92.1-Macclenny.

I agree, I thinks its time for Jacksonville to have a 2nd choice for Urban Hip-Hip/R&B.
