Rejoicing in a new job! :)

I am overjoyed and giving thanks to the LORD for opening a door for me at WIHS, 104.9 FM in Middletown! :)

I will be serving as an Assistant Engineer, part-time. There will be NO on-air activity, but that is fine. :) I am there to help them get caught-up with some technical projects, repairs, upgrades, etc, and I am looking forward to it like anything!! :D

After being out of work for over a year, this is going to be great! :) I will be starting on Monday, Oct 17'th!

GOD IS GOOD! \o/

Congratulations, Willie!

Blessings and congrats, Willie. I used to enjoy listening to the station when I lived on Long Island. May God use your passion, skills, and heart at WIHS, to serve and grow together.

Did you print this out for your scrapbook, Willie? 8)

"BITS: ... William Barnett has arrived at WIHS, Middletown, CT. as assistant engineer... (10/12)"

We tend to complain here so much that it's easy to forget what a privilege it is to be a part of the industry. Enjoy the ride!

LOL! Another friend of mine pointed this out to me, earlier. HisAir staff must be reading the CRTech reflector, or are one of my FB friends, and saw my post there! :) There's only one tiny correction: I didn't start, yet. :) I start on Monday, the 17'th... and I am counting down! I can't wait!! :D

Wow! 496 "hits" on this topic! I never expected it to draw THAT much interest! :)

It's been 3 weeks, now. I am loving this job, and LOVING the people I get to work with. :) Such a joy!

It's been a very EVENTFUL 3 weeks, so far! The 1'st week, the automation system main fileserver went down. The 2'nd week, a critical satellite receiver had some issues after replacing a HD. This past week, the mother-of-all-snowstorms took out 90% of the power in the state! Whew! At least all of these things gave me plenty of work to do. :)

Good riddance to the month of October! ;)

Isn't that just like God, to have those things go down so you can show your new employer that your talents are needed at their radio station which given those first 3 weeks, I'm sure are appreciated much by your new employer.

Congratulations on your new gig. Sounds like you already have made an impact in your new position. God's plans are always the best. Enjoy this new path in your walk with Christ.

Still rooting for your success, at this new radio station.

Visited their web site and loved it.

Even saw you on there and the picture looked great.

P.S. Glad that your area still has K-Love on the radio.  Hope that station will touch many people for years to come.

Thanks, folks! I sincerely appreciate the feedback! :) (799 views! WOW!)

Thankfully, those first 3 weeks were the worst of it! It's been a lot less "exciting", but always enjoyable! Pretty much every day, now, I leave with a significant feeling of accomplishment! (Some days I leave a little frustrated, because I couldn't finish something before the workday ended.)

I was actually feeling the "I belong here, now! I am comfortable and I am enjoying it!" feeling, today! :) That, mingled with a feeling of accomplishment, made for a GREAT day! I had gotten most of the way through yet another computer headache, and got some new software fully operational! Aren't those computer issues always the worst? ;)

In short, I am VERY THANKFUL for the opportunity that the LORD has given me to work at WIHS! Please continue to keep the station in your prayers. It's always a battle, as many of you know!

If you ever get bored.. I can come over and play with the wires in your rack for a little while to give you some work to do :)

Speaking of rejoicing,  My return to radio broadcasting may soon be happening.  Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

Someone mentioned something about K-Love, but I guess that post is no longer here. (I saw it in e-mail.)

We have 96.7 out of New Rochelle. :)

Let's just say that a major shakeup may soon be occurring in my hometown and if God allows it, I might get to help bring K-Love Radio to our radio dial.
