You forgot music:

"Sympathy for the Devil" - Stones
"Running with the Devil" - Van Halen
"My Sweet Lord" - George Harrison (intentional misdirection into a false religion)
"Spirit in the Sky" - Norman Greenbaum (heresy: "I've never sinned")

I don't know if this is just a sheer brush with genius or Muzzled has waaaaay too much time on his (or her) hands. Nicely done. ;D

For some reason, I had always imagined E-VIL 990 as a talker....

I guess we'll have to petition the FCC for an AM/FM combo. What would be a good frequency for the FM side that would ALSO have to have been cursed since its existence?

First, thanks very much for the kind words on the other post!

105.3 would be the perfect FM complement...ELEVEN call letter changes since the frequency was first applied for in 1947...KFTG, KSFM (S]atan F]M]?), KPSD (K]eep P]laying S]ympathy for the D]evil?), KMAP, KXXK, KOAX, KQZY, KRSR, KRRM, KYNG, KLLI.

Oops, found one with TWELVE (going back to 1949:) 94.9--KCLE, KFAD, KAMC, KWJS, KJIM, KLTY, KHYI, KODZ, KSNN, KEWS, KWRD, then back to KLTY.

KPSD (K]eep P]laying S]ympathy for the D]evil?

Oh, that's good! I used to listen to a Detroit station, WLLZ. The rumor was that it stood for Whole Lotta Led Zepplin.

Aside from coming up with an amusing acronym, is there any other reason to change a station's call sign?

Usually for a marketing blitz and for name recognition (mimicking a format name, a nickname, or even to underscore the dial position [KXVI 1600 was one, for instance..."XVI" is 16 in Roman numerals])...Used to, it was free to change calls. Now I believe the FCC charges $1,500, so you don't see as many changing now as you used to.
