Religious 103.7 back

raccoonradio said:
The original station is WSMA 90.5 out of Scituate and the repeater is W279BQ at 103.7, supposedly
licensed to Gloucester but now beaming out of Saugus.

I can hear it in Somerville.

From those maps, it doesn't look like the signal would get into the COL at all. How can they get a license for a station that doesn't reach the COL?

A translator doesn't really have a "city of license" as such. The FCC doesn't really require the translator to serve any identifiable area, only that it not interfere with other stations; it's up to the licensee to ensure enough area is covered to be worthwhile.

thanks for the update guys. the last time i heard this on the air, it was a poor low quality feed of WSMA. I will be checking for this to see if they improved. ... not that i want them to. ugh. damn god-casters. :p :p
