Remember that "Original Band" from Free Credit Score.com?

None of the others ever captured their succes. NOW, if we could just get FLO shipped to
outer space on a rocket. Some brands just wear their concept out.
 
I remember when it was Free Credit Report dot com. I tried Googling to see what happened with the name and got nada. :-[

I think they changed their name to avoid confusion with freecreditreport.gov and annualcreditreport.com, which are official portals from the Federal Trade Commission that enables Americans to get their copies free, with no strings attached. Of course, the FTC made PSAs parodying the frecreditscore.com ads, to drive home the point that you don't need to sign up for anything for your free credit report.

The Free Credit Score ads are really stupid. I don't watch them.
