Remember the old KGTN 1530 in Georgetown?

A viewer is asking me whatever happened to George Martinez who used to do a Spanish program on KGTN back in the 60s. Anyone know? IIRC Back then every small town station around Austin had a Spanish show usually right before their sundown signoff.

As I recall, George was last on "La Tremenda" de Taylor when it was KTAE 1260. I think that Marcelo Tafoya and Johnny Francis were on KGTN 1530 in the 70's. KTAE was sold to Zee Zepeda and then later to Sendero Broadcasting and it was bye bye local programming and bye bye George. There is more to the story, I just don't remember much. KGTN was sold in the late 90's to a State Representative in think it was Dan Kubiak who then sold it to the LCRA who then sold it to Buddy Mc Gregor who then sold it to the Simmons folks. By then, Simmons had purchased the 1260 signal in Taylor, which is now moving to Elgin.

I don't recall if George was ever on KGTN in the 60's.
