Remember this station?

I was in the market when this happened but I never recall listening because the signal was so bad on my side of town (northwest). They went talk after that, right? Then Sports Talk.

How long did they last? Did they ever show in the ratings or get much advertising?

It was never all news to my memory. It was a FM Talk Station for all intents and purposes. They did do local newscasts, but I don't remember a news block, just talk shows with news at the top & bottom of the hour. It was mostly local as "FM News Channel" and mostly syndicated as "SuperTalk" before flipping to ESPN. All in all, the format lasted about 2 years and didn't get much traction.

They really went into overboard panic mode when it looked like Hurricane Rita was heading for Galveston. I remember someone (Laurie Kendrick I think) saying "if you can hear my voice, get out of town NOW".
