Remember...TV38's Ask The Manager

So, who wants to watch a boring old TV show with some guy reading letters about the
TV station to that outlet's general manager? Lots of people. A cult item around here
(so, NOT so boring...?)
(Flynn, Dimino, Berkery, Allen, Tauber along with Dana Hersey, Sean McDonough, etc.)
Rudy Cheeks Rudy Cheeks Rudy Cheeks! T shirts and mugs. Tours of the studio.
Goofing around, oh, and "when are ya gonna put the Stooges back on? Can you get
such-and-such a movie? What do you mean by 'bicycling' programs and 'counter-programming'?"

Great page about the show:

Ask...the Manager. Your chance to ask TV38's Vice President and General Manager Daniel
J. Berkery questions about TV38 and/or the broadcasting industry in general! And now,
heeeere's Dan!

Didn't they have diff. theme songs over the years? Wasn't there one by Herbie Hancock?

Great tribute site. I had no idea Cliff Allen died nearly 10 years ago and shortly after ATM aired it's last broadcast. Very sad.

Nice to see Meg LaVigne mentioned in there. I liked her.

I think she did and I want to say it was some sort of Sunday morning community affairs type of show.

My favorite manager was Joe Dimino. Dan Berkery used to fill in for Dimino once in a while and originally looked uncomfortable. I seem to remember they took the show of the air for a few weeks when Berkery first became GM, however Berkery did grow into his on-camera role.

I remember it quite well..... with Dana Hersey's intro during the William J. Flynn days......

"ASK the Manager! Your chance to ask TV-38's Vice President and General Manager William J. Flynn questions about TV-38 and/or the broadcasting industry in general. And NOW here he is, here is Mr. Flynn!"

A lot of people waited for 10:30 PM on Sunday nights for their weekly dose of ATM! I still miss it! It was fun to see what the other stations in the market were doing. The show actually started as a Q&A segment during Tom Larson's "Crackerbarrel" talk show back in 1971. Due to the response of that show, Mr. Flynn started ATM as a once-weekly Saturday evening show. It eventually moved to Sunday nights, generally after the Bruins game. When UPN showed up, the show became nothing more than a UPN infomercial. They ought to bring it back to at least a once a month show.
