Remember WFMX? It's changed again

It appears that the Triad has had 2 station format changes in the last month. I wonder if any of the Charlotte stations are prime for change?

Sad. WFMX was a succesful regional Country FM for many, many years, just doing business in Statesville and Hickory. They had qualifying from the tracks that brought a lot of listeners to the station and ran a "real" country format that kept them around.

With CC, who knows anymore? Both recent Triad format changes involved CC stations. We're asking the same question in Raleigh concerning the Smoketree stable...

Not "real" enough.

WAME was afraid to change when they had competition. WIST does it in the east, and WMNC in the west.
