Remembering Bob Mills

Many, no doubt, have already heard this (not surprisingly Facebook, not Radio Discussions, is the ‘go-to’ place for sharing such news) … but as Bob Mills was a Rochester radio and TV icon, it seems worthwhile to post something here, as well.…

As a kid, I watched him on TV … and, many years later, he was gracious enough to record a “remember when”-style drop for my then-request show on the radio. By then, he was living out-of-state … so we only “met” on the phone (I think Tom George might’ve helped facilitate the connection) … but I remember him being extraordinarily friendly and gracious during a fairly lengthy phone conversation. Of course, I asked him to include his signature sign-off, “Have a happy!” on this drop (originally recorded for WKLX, but later re-purposed for WBBF-FM):
