Remembering Con "JR" Chung

At this time I regret to inform everyone that Con "Jr" Chung has lost his two year battle with Cancer.
Although many may better recall his days at the old FM 108, he later hired Wayne Williams. Dance 108 was then born. Con, you will be missed.

Thank-you for your contributions to the radio business. R.I.P. Con was 58.<P ID="signature">______________

But, according to Milkman who wrote it, Z103dot5's format was born in 1995, not the name. Z103dot5 was born in '01, with the same old Hot/Hits 103-5 format.

In 1995, DC 103five(CIDC FM,an AC station) became HOT 103five, a DANCE music station. NOT a Hit musc station.
Hits was a mix of Dance and hits, and Z, while it still holds credit for playing some dance music, is even more so a hit music station today.

I do agree though, Milkman should correct his info.

I'm sure Con was involved with CIAO 530 back in the day. He occasionally voiced a reggae program (along with Colin ? Vern? and another announcer with I think was named Dermot ? I'm thinking the time line was about 1987-88, right after 790 AM moved to 530 AM and the studios were moved into the Clarence Street mall in Brampton? My first ever radio gig (paid) was working at 530 AM as a producer and I can remember him in the studio.
