I've been holding off posting this because I am not sure of the exact date when we got Cable tv in Flint.

Flints Library tells me it was 1974, but I remember comming home from High School and being excieted whin my mom told me that the outside line was hooked up and that we would be getting the cable hooked up in the house soon. I was in college in 1972.
I think it was in the 1960s.

I remember it was on a Saturday afternoon when the Cable guy came.

This is the channel line up as I remember it:
2 WJBK Detroit channel 2
3 Lan communications news wire typed to the screen, Local FM station Music
4 WWJ-TV Detroit channel 4
5 WNEM Bay City Saginaw Flint Channel 5
6 WJIM Lancing Jackson Flint Channel 6
7 WXYZ Detroit Channel 7
8 WKBD Detroit Channel 50
9 CKLW Winzer/Detroit Channel 9
10 WJRT Flint Channel 12
11 WKNX Saginaw Channel 25
12 WILX/WMSB Lansing Channel 10
13 WTVS Detroit Channel 56

That's all there was.
I remember we got a flyer in the mail and the subscription was $5.00 a month.

I was glad to be able to watch Channel 50 at long last and tuned to nothing ellse that summer.
If anyone knows when this all started, let the rest of us know, cause I'm not sure.
