Remembering Magic 96.1

Hey it was around this time last year we lost the good times and great oldies on Magic 96.1.

So far no one has taken up the format so folks it's probably not going to happen. I've got the old I'm in the upper demos blues!

Looks like it was a wise move for Clear Channel, the current format is doing well. They have some good people on board and are probably making tons of money. Good for them but it's not for me.

It would be interesting to know where the Magic listeners have gone. If it's Lite 102.9 that's even better for Clear Channel because it means they have lost nothing.

I have gone to the Ipod with my own mix of oldies, jazz, country and podcasts.

I just want to say I still miss the folks at Magic and the "Good Times, Great Oldies".

Hi Mike
Don't forget about Brother Dave's Magic96 tribute page at http://www.tragic96.com/
I had not seen the vacant lot at what was once the Magic Corner until a few months ago. Its a shame not to see that building there anymore

I was going to post something on the actual day of the flip, but I wanted to see if anyone else remembered about the date of the flip. I still have fond memories of Magic 96.1, and I always will. Thanks again to all of the folks who really helped to put "Magic" into my Charlotte days!!!

Where the MAgic listeners have gone?I went somewhere that 10 yeara ago I would have never considered, I went to XM. About all I listen to now is the 60's channel there, and I love it.Still I really miss "Real Radio" on terrestrial stations.
