Remembering Winston-Salem's 93.1

Thanks VChimpanzee! How could I forget WHSL???? And, Dr. Proctor, yes, I knew both Kim Pyle and Dick Harlow. Both of them really smart radio people. Bernie Mann brought Kim to the Triad from Little Rock and now she's gone back there. Dick left Bernie at WGLD to become the Sales Manager at WMAG. Then he hired Kim away from Bernie to be one of their first salespeople, along with Paula Cole, and then Kathy Mauk (later became Jefferson) who came from Oklahoma, Linda Ilderton, Greg Fischer, and DeeDee Gentry who later became their Sales Assistant. Those were the days!
 
I think Dick actually left Bernie's Raleigh station (WYYD) to go to WMAG! I was at WYYD at the time. Sue Weiss replaced him as GSM there!
 
You're probably right...I just remember he left Bernie and Bernie had the locks changed at WGLD right after Dick left. Bernie also filed a signal interference complaint with the FCC to keep WMAG from going full power for about 6 months. Didn't know Sue Weiss took Dick's place! She is now the Director of Development at WUNC public radio. Man, we old radio people just keep recycling! :D
 
The way I remember this Dick was Dr. Procters Boss when he defected the Hiltons!!
