Remembering WSFW

I'm sure many of you who contribute to this board remember WSFW, and its legacy as an amazing full service community radio station. I thought some of you would be interested to know that a friend and I have put together a special program honoring this station. It was 11 years ago this month that the station was sold to The Radio Group, and moved from Seneca Falls to Geneva. Finger Lakes radio would never be the same again.

This special consists of a phone interview with longtime WSFW employee Jim Schreck, and, an off-air recording of the final half hour of programming broadcast on WSFW-FM from its studios on Water Street in Seneca Falls. The last program aired by the station was in itself a special broaccast. I consider it an honor to air the show for the first time in over a decade.

If you are reading this in time, you can listen to the program live this evening (3/13) at 8 pm on my internet station, Geneva Community Radio.

Otherwise, you can download the program here:

My thanks to Jim Schreck for giving us an interview, and for his permission to air the special broadcast which he so lovingly produced.
