REMINDER: RETRO ANTENNA TV NETWORK BEGINS AT MIDNIGHT ET

I got a reply from channel 32, krcw. They say the Dish Network Dtv Pal has problemswith some sub channels. I find it hard to believe. I just reset the box to factory default. Same problem, 32.1 and 42.3, Universal Sports are fine as usual. I get program information on channel 32.2 that says antenna and the show information, sound, no picture. I'm calling Dish Network.

It's very easy to believe...some of these tuners and boxes are finicky when it comes to dealing with PSIP issues.

KRCW should work with you and other DTV Pal owners, and figure out those configuration issues.

Here in Cleveland, I personally saw an issue with WVIZ/25's 480i subchannels on my portable digital TV - the subchannels "squeezed" down to half a screen, vertically, but were fine on all other digital tuners I had, from a Zenith/Insignia box to a USB tuner for my computer.

The problem went away on the portable set when WVIZ installed a new encoder. The old one was coded so the resolution was wrong on the subchannels, but only the digital portable followed the incorrect coding.

Thanks for the information on the "missing" Antenna TV shows.
Their copies of the 3 Stooges weren't up to the DVD standards, but still watchable. I think that audiences would accept second-rate prints if they wanted to see the shows.

ahh, how soon we forget the scratched, blurry, washed-out prints that looked like they had been edited with a
Waring Blender which used to run on our local independent stations back in the day.

I doubt if any remaining video exists from WAJA-TV 23 Miami (now WLTV)....oh were they the worst, as far as keeping their prints. Scratches and dots, splices left and right....including a commercial or two!! You woulda had to see it to believe.

Went to Goodwill today, and found an RCA DTA 800 box for $14.95! It gets Antenna Tv just like the dtvpal should. I give the dtvpal back to it's owner!

Nice to know you went from "hard to believe" to a new box. :D

Nice score, by the way. I might try my local Goodwill and see if they have a box or two...

We in Atlanta missed the train...........maybe we'll be able to catch the next
one. I don't think WXIA has any plans for 11.2 (which used to be weather).

They had the first sub channel in Atlanta, that NBC weather thing that
stunk. That must have left a bad taste in their mouth and now they are
reluctant to do anything.

From these posts I get the feeling that Antenna had a rough and rocky start. I must say that
most on here were probably expecting something more from Tribune.........
what have we got here Retro TV PT.2???? It seems some affiliates are still not up.

On the other hand, Me-TV just seemed to flip the switch (for their 3 stations).......which
probably was a lot easier since they were almost already in place and had fewer stations.

IVY-TV does not have Antenna. E-mail support(a)ivi.tv and request it. The more who ask
the sooner they will probably add it.

Me-TV start up A
Antenna TV start up C+

Wrong again. Not all affiliates were supposed to sign on the air on 1/1/11.

As far as I know only one station was to sign on late.

Now, since you're so smart would you provide us with the dates you "say" you have
found that said otherwise.

Antenna TV's Twitter feed has been announcing stations coming on after the launch. I believe San Diego was the latest addition.

ETA: Didn't notice that they just announced Houston.

It's my understanding that some technical issues may have delayed some of the stations. And some, like WJW here, went on 1/1 without technology to insert either spots or IDs yet.

Time Warner added it to the Trumball County lineup on Monday 1/4 and I've been watching it ever since. Programming is much better than RTV.

Not sure what channel it's on with a digital box but it is in clear QAM on 8-2 listed as ANT-TV.
The physical channel number is 114-4.

One of my complaints about RTV here is WIVM-LP 52 from Canton switches over to local programming most of the time when there is something I want to watch on RTV.

Antenna TV/WJW 8.2 is on digital cable 988. I get it via QAM on 8.2 as well over here.

TWC NEO added Antenna TV in all service areas that normally get WJW, and Trumbull County is indeed one of them (despite being in the Youngstown TV market, the Cleveland stations are historically viewed there).

Now their website, Antenna-TV has listed start up dates for stations. I and many others
were under the impression that all were starting on Jan. 1st. They should have put that
information up a lot sooner.

Now, only about half of their affiliates are up and some are starting as late as March
while others are still TBA.
Looks like the "Antenna" hasn't gotten up on the roof yet.
