Remote Music Logs

I'm seeing more and more ads for online consultants and "virtual APDs" that will remotely do a station's music logs.

Now, are they using their own copy of music scheduling software and a copy of the client station music database or doing it some other way?

never thought of this idea until reading this post. Between voice tracking outsourcing production and now remote music logs soon the only people at the station will be the sales staff.

Where did you see ads for remote music logs either by stations looking for that kind of help or people offering remote music long services.

Nah, sales will be farmed out to "independent sales representatives". The only people left will be the receptionist, business manager, and an chief engineer.

The vast majority of US stations have not had a chief engineer for decades. Outside major stations in the major markets, contract engineers, alone or in associations, maintain varous stations, often over a wide area.

You can buy an outsourced receptionist too :). The only thing left will be the transmitter itself

That reminds me of the WKRP episode when Venus gets the job offer to be PD of an automated station.
