Remy Shand's Take A Message 2002

I know that I mentioned this song alot but Remy Shand's "Take a Message" earned a greatest gainer nod on the Urban AC charts on Billboard for the week of March 30, 2002. "Take A Message" was a top 10 record at Urban AC stations, including my hometown station KJLH Los Angeles which started playing it on Monday January 14, 2002. I'm so hooked on this record, the vocals, backing track, everything's flawless about this joint. So chilling. How come he wasn't successful as Robin Thickie ??? I can't imagine Justin Bieber making a record like "Take A Message" ever. Great song. If you liked it hit me up? I'm listening to it right now. Still sounds new brings back memories of when Lon Mc Q was doing the "Request Drive at 5" when he was working 2:00pm-6:00pm time slot and Cliff & Janine in the Mornings.

BJordan, you just took me back. I love this song. As a matter of fact, I have the whole CD. What happened to Remy Shand? He was a very talented white brother. Here in the DFW, KRNB was a neo-soul station at the time and blew this song up. I think that was the best 105.7 has ever sounded. Those were the good ole days....

That's what I'm wondering. I seriously though he was black before I saw the video for "Take A Message" on "B.E.T.'s 106 & Park" in 2002. 102.3 KJLH was playing real music I.E. Current R&B with no hip hop. Great times. When I listen to Take A Message I think about the good old days. It takes me on a natural high.

I feel ya. Back then, KRNB had the slogan, "New R&B" and sounded great. That's when I fell in love with neo-soul.

In Los Angeles KJLH had Today's R&B & Classic Soul slogan at that time. The songs found on KJLH's playlist in Early to Mid 2002 were Jaheim's Anything, Musiq Soulchild Half Crazy, Darius Rucker's Wild One, Keke Wyatt's Nothing in This World, Ruff Endz Someone to Love You(than months later KJLH starts mixing in the jazz version with Kim Waters playing the sax) Luther Vandross I'd Rather, Remy Shand's Take A Message and Faith Evans I Love You the only rap track that made it on KJLH's playlist was Nelly's & Kelly Rowland's Delliema and to be honest if Nelly's Delimma hadn't sounded like an R&B track it probably wouldn't on make it on KJLH because they were heavy on classic soul, urban jazz and current R&B some of the hip hop they would play would be R&B esque.

Oh don't forget Erick Sermon's Music Featuring Marvin Gaye. KJLH would play the rap-less version with just Marvin singing at the when the Remy Shand record came out.
