Renda Broadcasting Jacksonville sued by Arbitron

In Tom Taylor's NOW newsletter this morning Arbitron has sued Renda Broadcasting Jacksonville for illegally using numbers over the last two years. Several high profile names from the cluster are mentioned in the suit and one includes Arthur Crofton at Lite 96.1. Basically from what it sounds like they got the numbers from an agency, used them and Arbitrion caught on and now its going to cost Rends big time. I always thought things were being run on the cheap in Jacksonville when looking at other markets Redna is in. Now this exposes it. Do you all think Redna will eventually sell the Jax cluster? None the less this should be interesting to watch.

Anything is possible; however, only time will tell the real story. I find this to be rather "interesting" considering Renda is attempting an involuntary "forced" frequency move involving two Savannah stations.

You are right! It will be interesting to watch, but I suspect some people may end up losing a job over this when it is all said and done with. Best thing for them to do is settle with Arbitron and resubscribe to avoid any more issues.

So, how much time would pass between Arbitron contacting Renda about this issue before going public with a lawsuit? Would Renda have known this was coming when they filed the 94.1 involuntary upgrade proposal with the FCC?
