Renda GM Don Pollnow OUT!!

Maybe they should blow the one out in Tulsa too, heard he is a A$$.

Something tells me that Rob will get things back on track (at least better) for that place. Hopefully The Idiot will give Rob and his GM pick enough room to do fix it before micromanaging it again. Don gave The Idiot just what he wanted, but not what he needed. What he needed was stellar results. What he got was a consistant "YES SIRRR!". The root problem here is The Idiot. If he'll let Rob handle things I'd look for a big comeback for the cluster. Rob is quite capable of handling the place and turning it around. The best thing The Idiot, the Jerry Jones of radio could do is stay up in his skybox and let the players win some games.

Here's my thoughts on why Rob was brought back into the picture (more than anything else). The Idiot hasn't been making his payments on time, etc. to some very pissed off bankers. Rob, a person the bankers know and respect was brought in to not only fix the problems but to keep the bank from getting any more irritated at the situation. Rob is the light at the end of the dark tunnel to them.

I am quite sure that Rob's pick of GM will be an excellent one. :)!

The Idiot hand-picked the Tulsa GMs friend for the OKC GM job that was open several years ago. That GM then suggested to The Idiot that he might want to hire the current Tulsa GM for the gig up there. Then The Idiot got REALLY pissed off at the OKC manager he just hired after the guy was only here for a week or two and fired him. The Tulsa guy apperently has had better luck. I don't know that much about the Tulsa guy but it seems he at least has made some improvements to that cluster and has been able to hold it together. Something has to be said for that I guess.

I'm just guessing here, but the idiot you're mentioning...Tony Renda, JR.? or some other buffoon.

Here's how Tony operates: Before deciding someone is toast, he screams, screams screams, screams and screams more, then threatens, he'll find someone who can do the job, if you can't. That's when you should know your goose is cooked. The gig is up! It's the usual bull that doesn't make things better. Then like batman, Renda and his company, usually Judy or Allen show up at the station, unannounced, out of the blue, walks into the GM's office and says, we're making some changes and you're out. I can't make this stuff up... LMAO

Then there's part two, makes a speech in front of the staff, bla, bla, bla, I'm responsible, bla, bla, bla, making things better for you.. bla, bla bla, does anyone have question. And then dodges the questions with more bla, bla, bla. Budgets are continually raised, to the point where they can't be hit. I guess Tony will spending more on gas and airfare this year, firing his GM's and market managers. Consider this your warning..LMAO...
JR is in south FL where he can't screw things up..

You are 100 percent right pocket-radio!

The Idiot yells and screams and jumps up and down like a screaming banshee. That's why most decent management folks try to stay away. I don't know if he realizes how many good managers and others he's ran off due to that stupidity. Oh well. As he'll tell ya it HIS COMPANY.

I just hope Rob gets a long length of time where he is allowed to do the right thing before The Idiot starts to Jerry Jones him a lot. If Rob can make enough proper fixes he might stay off the cast of clowns and The Idiot's bad decisions.

Now that they have a new GM, KRXO will become Heaven 107 and 92.5 will become JeZus-FM with Rev. Fred Hindrickson and catholic priest Randy Renner, holding Revivals from Trosper park.

I used to work for Rob when he was a regional manager for Salem in Dallas. H e was pretty high up in the company. Salem is having a lot of troubles right now, so I can't say I am not suprised he is back at Renda. I knew he was there before. I did learn from him when he was at Salem.

Every radio company in America is in trouble right now. In rendavill Rob is like a hero...

Not just saying this 'cause Jon is my current GM, but I take umbrage to the association of him and the word a** in the same breath. Never been my experience. Worked with him at New City (before Cox) way back in the 90s when he was cutting teeth as a Sales Rep and prepping to earn GM stripes. Plus, how could you diss a guy who played on the OU offensive line that won a National Championship???

To decode: calling one in upper management by a disparaging name generally means one of the following:

a) that person fired me
b) that person fired someone I know
c) that person fired someone I was boppin'
d) that person kicked my tail in ratings/revenues
e) that person has been successful and I can't take it!

Any other reasons...please give specifics and be accountable!

Honestly...a radio station GM today has it tough, with heat from above and below. The job may well be about to cross the border into the "widowmaker" category...it's one I wouldn't even dare attempting myself.

To Whom It May Concern-

I ECHO Coop's sentiments regarding GM Jon. A nicer guy you couldn't meet. GM jobs are pressure cookers. This poor chap is having to make fishes and loaves stretch farther than they did after the Sermon on the Mount! I have always believed if you've got a beef (or a perch)....use your real name. Don't hide behind a phoney handle. It's just not cricket! Hell, if it wasn't for Jon's nod, I wouldn't be able to play radio on the weekends.

Yeah.. I haven't heard to much negitive about him myself. I HAVE heard a lot of positives from the previous adminstration up there. Now, as far as this statement goes "To decode: calling one in upper management by a disparaging name generally means one of the following:

a) that person fired me
b) that person fired someone I know
c) that person fired someone I was boppin'
d) that person kicked my tail in ratings/revenues

He's an idiot. It is quite a wonder he's managed to hang on to what he has in spite of himself all of these years. I guess part of it is because he is stupid enough to jump out there and try things where normal people know the risks are too high. Many wouldn't have taken on the debt and problems associated with it to grow his company as much as he has. That's also the real problem. Stupid debtloads are breaking his operation down from the weight. Hopefully Rob and company can get things back on track, but still there is the inherent load that cannot be avoided. It's hard to run a race with a 200lbs millstone around one's neck.
