Renda's AC is similar to Clear Channel's AC

It looks like a lot of Renda's AC is similar to Clear Channel's AC.

Magic 104.1 KMGL - Oklahoma City, OK
Lite 96.1 WEJZ - Jacksonville, Fl
92.9 KBEZ - Tulsa, OK (no longer AC, format changed to Adult Hits as 92.9 BOB FM)

These AC stations by Renda are good and they have good ratings except for KBEZ. Renda is not a big market though, they only own 25 stations nationwide. They used to have online streaming players for their stations, but they took it off due to escalating royalty fees by the RIAA which sucks because I can't no longer stream KMGL from OKC unless I visit OKC once in a while with my parents.

KMGL is pretty good except they do play a lot of crap. They play a lot Billy Idol and Paula Abdul. They also play The B-52's sometimes. They play "Second Chance" by Shinedown a lot when it came out and still plays it, and yeah that's kind of too upbeat for the station. Like other AC stations including CC's they play new music once in a while like Katy Perry and Kris Allen, but it's look like this station is 70's and 80's friendly. Unlike Clear Channel they do also play Adult Hits songs on their playlist once in a while like The Tubes, The J Geils Band, ABC, Madness, Wang Chung, etc. sometimes which kind of makes it loud. They do play "What Is Love" by Haddaway, but it rarely comes up on their playlist. They do play "American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz sometimes which throws the station of the AC format. Obviously they never played "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, but they added "Let's Get It Started" by Black Eyed Peas to their playlist last year, but they don't play it often, they only play it sometimes.

Overall this station plays a lot of good stuffs like Elton John, Rod Stewart, Fleetwood Mac, REO Speedwagon, Peter Cetera, Chicago, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson Wilson Philips, Don Henley, The Eagles, Phi Collins, Genesis, Leo Sayer, Paul Young, Mike and The Mechanics, Heart, Roxette, etc.

They play some of today hits like Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, Train, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Shinedown, Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock, Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas, etc.

Usually this station lean a little more on 70's and 80's.

WEJZ is a pretty good station too. Their playlist is similar to KMGL, but they're somewhat a little bit closer CC's AC playlist with a little more variety of new songs and some older songs.

KBEZ is a pretty good station too. Their playlist is similar to KMGL and WEJZ, unlike KMGL and WEJZ it ratings didn't do well in Tulsa and the station had a format changed to Adult Hits in 2010.

Sadly, I don't think Renda don't invest much into their stations and even though most of their stations are strong in the markets. They used to have an online streaming player starting somewhere in 2005 or 2006 I think, but they took off their online streaming player in the beginning of 2009 due to escalating royalty fees and never put it back on ever since. I heard they had their HD signals on before somewhere in 2006 and turn off their HD signals because it's causing signal problems on their main analog station and I believe they never had their HD signals back on ever since, I'm not sure because neither my family or I have an HD Radio receiver in OKC to see if KMGL is in HD.

I like WEJZ. Don't forget WSHH in Pittsburgh, another good Renda AC.

WEJZ has gotten pretty agressive lately but still have a good mix from the past eras.

I know right? It surprises me too. If their sister station WSOS-FM drops gold-based soft AC for classic rock in Jacksonville in March, WEJZ should have gone softer, instead, they threw in Third-Eye Blind, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gavin Degraw, Pink, and Black Eyed Peas on their playlist. Well, it looks like WEJZ is still pretty decent with Don Henley, The Eagles, and America's "Sister Golden Hair" in their playlist. CC's KLQT has gone aggressive recently too, I saw stuffs like Gavin Degraw on their playlist as well.

Oh yeah, I tried to check out WSHH a long time ago, but it wasn't available on yes.com, probably because yes.com isn't available in Pittsburgh or something. I probably recheck WSHH website for a synced playlist or I probably check radiotime.com to see if their is a playlist available on there.

Oh nevermind, surprisingly WSHH is back on radiotime.com and yes.com. Maybe it was down for Pittsburgh the time when I was checking out WSHH on yes.com and I don't remember if I did check radiotime.com that day, but it might have been down for radiotime.com that day too.

WSHH playlist is pretty similar to KMGL and WEJZ. Their playlist is very good. They even play Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody. Btw, I came across Lady Gaga - Poker Face on their playlist and it's the first Renda AC playlist I came across with Lady Gaga on it. Lol, KMGL and WEJZ never had a single Lady Gaga song on their playlist, but they do play a lot Katy Perry though. :p

WEJZ is strange with currents. They play "Just The Way You Are" and "Raise Your Glass" - those are the only currents they play. Very odd that they play RYG. I see "Use Somebody" is in the heavy rotation like it was a current and they didn't even play it when it was new. ??? Same with "If Today Was Your last Day." Funny that WEJZ is staying so soft with the 70s and 80s (for the most part, I did see "Your Love" by The Outfield) but aggressive with the 90s and 00s.

Another interesting thing about WEJZ and 70s music is that they shy from disco. Most AC's are heavy on disco from the 70s, but they are more in to The Eagles, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Eagles, etc. I also see Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mac, Orleans, Pure Prairie League, Gregory Abbott. None of the KC, Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, etc. that so many AC's seem to love from the 70s.

Can't edit my previous post but I thought I would add that WEJZ also plays Little River Band and Player, both "soft" artists from the 70s.

KMGL pretty odd in a similar way. They play The Outfield - Your Love a lot as well. "Use Somebody" was their current when it was new and now they start playing it a lot again. Firework is also their current, but unlike WEJZ, they obviously never played Teenage Dream at all, besides that, hmm... they did play Hot N Cold and California Gurls as their currents when they were new. Just The Way You Are is also their current, Grenade had made an appearance in their playlist, but not their current yet. Maroon 5 - Misery is one of their strong current. I don't remember, but I think I stumbled over a Clear Channel AC in Florida playing Misery (FYI: it wasn't WMGF).

KMGL is pretty much crazy about Lenny Kravitz, Duran Duran, The Outfield, Whitesnake, Spin Doctors, etc. sometimes. Besides that, they're good on Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, Elton John, The Eagles, Chicago, Whitney Houston, Stephanie Mills, Player, Paul Young, etc.
