Renee Syler leaving The Early Show on CBS

I know this forum is supposed to be about Texas TV, but she did previously work for Channels 8 and 11 while in Dallas.

I just wonder if she left other than the reasons she mentioned? She said she was going to write a book. I'd think it is rather hard to compete with Julie Chen, since Julie is married to Les, the head of CBS-TV, wouldn't you?

Will CBS ever have a morning show to compete with Today or Good Morning America? It seems like they are "always" a very distant 3rd in the ratings.

I don't know how to edit messages on this forum so I apologize for "double-posting.

I just read in the Dallas Morning News that Renee Syler is going to have a double masectomy due to breast cancer and that is part of the reason she is leaving. Both her mother and her father had breast cancer as well. The article also states her sister will probably have the surgery as well.

The article goes on to say that CBS-TV told her that "The Morning Show" was going in a different direction and that direction was without her in the picture.

Truly sad news for her. I do hope she gets through this very trying time in her life.

Seems like a really nice lady.

Keep her and her family in your prayers.
