Is it me, or does it sound like Christy, on Renel and Christy Morning Show on 98.1 KISS FM, is voice tracked or broadscasting from somewhere else? As I have listened, the audio quality sounds different. Renel sounds close, but Christy sounds far away. Just wondering if anyone else has heard the samething.

I feel like Christy (and I am guessing she is young) is yelling at me, not talking to me.
The PD needs to tell her she can have energy without being loud and coming across like she is raising her voice.

I agree. But it's also glaring that, though Christy tries hard to give the appearance of "live" banter with Renel, Renel isn't there. The show carries like it's the "Christy Show," because I hardly ever hear Renel. The pauses between "banter" are too long and the "responses" sound too "distant" and trite. In other words, there's no meat to the "banter."
I got tipped off to the VO'ing on Renel's part some time ago. I was already suspecting Renel wasn't in studio when one morning, Christy asked Renel to chime in on some inane comment and nothing came of it so the segue was made to music instead. It was too obvious there had been a misfire.

Sounds like most of KISQ IS voice-tracked... but I have to admit... they do a GREAT JOB of making it sound LIVE ENOUGH that listeners won't pick up on it. If it sounds live... it must be. And I LOVE the new direction musically they've taken as well. Lot's of 80's tunes... not just the typical "Low Rider" / Thump oldies. Nice evolution of the format!

I agree though, that the musical direction has improved. I'm actually listening to KISQ a bit now after giving it up years ago because the play list was so stale and repetitive. Of course, this "new direction" might get old and stale too unless they change it up from time to time.

Pretty sure Kiss is only tracked in middays. Don't know how often Renel is live and how often tracked, but Michael Erickson started letting her track during Giants' season years ago. Probably why they added Christie...so even during baseball they can always be at least semi-live. But Morris Knight and Tony Sandoval are always live. They even answer the request lines...how novel!

And Morris Knight sounds tracked to me., though I can't say I've checked that closely. His show has that paltry content feeling of most VTed shows.

OK - I guess if he takes requests, he must be. As far as I know, they haven't found a way to VT that. Now that you mention it, I had on Kiss yesterday afternoon - Sylvia Chacon was on (I guess she does weekends), and she sounded like she might be live, as well.
