Renewing TIS licence

Anyone out there have any experience with a TIS licence renewal?

The lack of information from the FCC on renewing our community's TIS licence has been deafening and, radio geek and old 1st Phone that I am, I want to see this thing done timely and right. It's a chore I've taken on for which I'm not paid that seems to be off everybody else's radar.

The little 8-watt flamethrower might not mean a helluva lot to some, but I think it provides a useful service when you consider what a rotten job the "commercial" stations are doing where civil/civic emergencies and urgent information are concerned.

Application for an AM Travellers' Information Station license must be made on FCC Form 601. For additional information on AM Travellers' Information Stations, please contact the FCC's National Call Center at 1 - (888) - 225 - 5322 [ 1 - 888 - CALL - FCC ] or send an e-mail to [email protected]. This service is administered by the Commission's Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Questions and requests for information about AM-band TIS stations must be referred to WTB; the Audio Division cannot assist you on this subject.
