Does anyone know of websites with airchecks and/or history of call letters/formats/logos of radio stations here in Reno??

I thought I had one over 5 years ago that had logos of 93.7 the groove and their format change and I think there used to be a different format on 102.1 back in the day that played hit music at night and something else during the day.

Can anyone help?

Most of the information is wrong on those sites. In regard to 102.1 there was never any previous format becasue that channel was vacant until April 0f 2003. Remember you are talking about frequencies, not stations and 102.1 Mhz. signed on in Reno for the first time in April 2003.

Speaking of frequencies, the 630 KHz. verses 780 KHz. is the biggest lie in town. The truth is that 780 KHz. signed on around 1971 as KCRL and that is 27 years ago and not the 75 plus years that the new station (KKOH) which started for the very first time in 1993 or 94.

The fact that KOH 630 KHz started in 1922 does not have any relevence to the age and history of 780 KHz.

One thng you can depend on is that Citadel will continue to distort and lie about the past and present in regard to its station and others in the market.

So instead of webb sites perhaps you may find some writings that haven't been altered to change the past.

www.fcc.gov is a good source except when a station changes its call letters then all the past filings show the newer call sign. However under station information you can look up call sign history and that is usually accurate.

As you may know in the Bay Area there is a webb site with airchecks and as you have figured out no one has cared about Reno enough to develop one.

Let's us know what you find.
