Repack

Does anyone have any info on how the repack will effect the stations in the Tampa Bay market? Thanks!

From Rabbit Ears, here's who is moving:
8/WFLA: 7-->9
16/WUSF: 34-->leaving the air
28/WFTS: 29-->17
32/WMOR: 19-->18
38/WTTA: 32-->sharing with station TBA
44/WTOG: 44-->19
50/WFTT: 47-->20
66/WXPX: 42-->29

Without channel sharing, this repack is going to effectively lower the number of available OTA. Looking at the CPs and APPs, there appears to be a lot of co-channel interference inevitability.

Update on two channels (most of whom here may already know):

WEDU/channel 3 acquired WUSF's license and kept virtual channel 16 on under the new call WEDQ (PBS Encore). In January, WEDQ vacated channel 16 (now silent) and moved to WEDU's 3.4 (RF 13.6) subchannel.

WTTA/channel 38 will channel share with WFLA/channel 8 (RF 7.3).

I hope that we get a lot of 5G service out of all this.

Here is a more succinct list of the market #16 repacks.
These channel changes cannot be cheap, except for channel sharing.

Thanks for that comprehensive list ai4i; which includes WWSB channel 40; even in se St. Pete, I’ve always received ABC on 40 OTA better than 28; although it was close and channel 28 was always reliable, now not so much. I’m suspecting that the repacking and adding sub-channels detracts slightly from the primary channel’s ERP? I’m not sure what else would explain that I don’t get some of the stations as well as I used to.......didn’t use to matter, as I had cable, but I discontinued the cable as the Verizon substitute is not nearly as good as Verizon was, so now, it’s strictly OTA and channel 10, is now iffy at best and I can’t go to cable for it and their subchannel’s! :(

Also has channel 8 made the transition from actual channel 7 to channel 9?
