Repeat record attempt????

What is the record for the number of times a station or network has repeated a movie? Is ION TV attempting to break a previously established record or create one with its perennial airing of "The Godfather"?

They won't come anywhere near Spike's constant showing of the Star Wars movies.

If you want to count the Holiday season, lest we forget "A Christmas Story" or "It's A Wonderful Life" (back when it was in the public domain).

I think CMT topped that record with reruns of the George Strait movie "Pure Country". Seems like it's on every week for the past several years.

And for The Godfather and its sequels, AMC reran those movies into the ground years ago. If you want the unedited versions of those films that ION and AMC chopped up, get the DVD's.

VH1 and VH1 Classic have aired the awful NBC TV movies "The Jacksons: An American Dream" and that one about the Temptations so many times over the year it's uncountable. It seems to always be on whenever Nick or MTV need it out of the way to prop up their own awards shows.

Also there were times in the 1990's where it was impossible to avoid "Red Heat".

Yet somehow, I can't help but wonder if they run Pauly Shore movies just as often... ::)

"The Jacksons" miniseries actually aired on ABC originally, but point is well-taken. It's been on so much, I avoid watching now. That and the fact that it so dated (and even cheaper-looking) now. The Temptations miniseries, however, is one I actually enjoy, but it does repeat itself ad-naseum.
