Replaceing great voices with annoying fatiguing voices why?

Kirk Mellish has a great easy to listen to radio voice.
The trend that continues in radio and tv, has been in the last twenty years or so to replace great voices with another annoying fatiguing tweetybird voices in both female and male.
A perfect example is Kirk Mellish's replacement Christina Edwards.
And they wonder why they keep loosing ratings.
Can anyone in the industry explain this?

I am a huge fan of Kirk -- and miss hearing his forecasts immensely -- but "easy to listen to" is the exact opposite of how I would describe his voice. He sounded like a scientist/professor and not at all like a broadcaster. Maybe that's why I trusted his forecast so much.

Christina Edwards does not sound comfortable. Even her live stuff sounds stiff and pre-recorded. I hope that changes with time.

Kirk did sound like a professor/scientist, but he sound comfortable.

She's not nearly as bad as Sherrell Hubbard doing traffic on 680 The Fan during afternoon drive, Every time she opens the mic it's like it's her 1st time being on air...
