Report: Longtime WGME staffers offered buyouts

Looks like hard times are hitting WGME as well. Employees who started working at the Sinclair-owned station prior to December 31, 1999 are apparently being offered financial inducements to leave voluntarily. No word as to whether any on-air people are included, but one decidedly underutilized talent springs to mind. Al Diamon's excellent Media Mutt column first mentioned these rumors last week, and there's been some chatter on the TVSpy Watercooler since then about recent employment-related matters at WGME and other Sinclair stations.
