i get the feeling lopez feels she's TOO GOOD for the show anyway, so why not lose her.
 
I have never understood the purpose of the "judges". The few, very few, times I've watched Idol they've come off either as fawning supporters or mean-spirited idiots. Since it is (supposedly) the audience that determines who succeeds or fails there is no technical reason for these talentless morons to exist (apologies to Steven Tyler who is a marginally talented idiot).
