Reputation vs. Reality

There's a fairly well-held consensus around radio circles that radio-info.com is little more than a flame board for embittered, hapless, socially inept, self-important, unemployed radio personalities who all want to feel as though they have expertise in something other than science fiction movies, Dungeons & Dragons, renaissance fairs, hard liquor, and anti-depressants.

Do you feel this is an unfair characterization?

Normally I'd dismiss this sort of a post as mindless rubbish. But I'm so hopped up on Paxil, Seraquil, Xanax and Wellebutrin that I find it.... Empowering.

But then again, A Jedi concerns himself not with these things....

> Do you feel this is an unfair characterization?

I have the ability to see who is really who...even unregistered users. You'd be surprised what big names in radio regularly visit.
______________

Perhaps it would not be that way if people had the nerve to post who they really are in their profile. Some of the folk who post the most do not want their words associated with them. Then there are folks like Ray Thomas, Todd Mayor, and Scooter who have honest profiles. I applaud the fact that they have the balls to post, and stand-by those words with their real identities. Reputations are most often earned by actions.

Well, they've got to do something. Each day, there are more and more embittered, hapless, socially inept, self-important, UNEMPLOYED radio personalities.....thanks to the many idiots in charge. (thankfully, I am not one of them yet)

Hey, Jack, your post makes me kind of suspicious of you. Just an observation. Before you point the finger at others, give some thought to how your words might reflect back on you. Know what I mean?

FYI, while I may be an ex-jock, it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I spent thirty years behind the mic, and I hardly miss it (mostly because the business became a business - that's not the radio I used to love). I come here to see what the latest rumors are. It's something to do on a coffee break, ya'know. And it's quite natural for any human -unemployed or employed- to be curious about what everyone is talking about in the virtual grapevine.

Now, do us all a favor, will you? Join us back down here on the ground. That horse looks mighty tired. And the rest of us are here for friendly chatter, not condescending insults.

Thanks for your input, Jack.
______________

Actually, all I did was point out the obvious as well. No need for me to chill out, my friend.

Once again, as RJ said in this thread earlier, it's amazing what some will say here without the balls to reveal their identity.
______________
