What do I have to do to stop the "thank you" and "please post" messages?

Delete them on sight?

I always get upset when, as a moderator, I see blatant refusal to follow the rules. The stickys at the top of this forum act as additional rules that apply to Classic TV, which gets special rules as a special case among the Radio-Info boards.

This board doesn't really "fit" into the R-I mission, because we are about as far away from a discussion of current radio as you can get without leaving broadcasting altogether. If we are to survive (and please remember that I was the one who got this board to be created in the first place, so I want it as much as any of you), we have to be as little a drain on the database as possible.

We already take up a lot of space because schedule posts are much longer than the average posts on the radio boards. That is why I have pleaded with all of you to edit the quoted sections of replies to only include what you are commenting on. And that is why I do not want to see "replies" that consist of a request for some other day's schedule, or new posts that are nothing more than requests.

So, please, work with me on this.

I also point out -- again -- that the people who post schedules can only post what they have. By not making requests, you eliminate being disappointed when no one has what you want.
______________

When it is from a TV Guide, I can request the previous Saturday's listings because
it is from the same week since TV Guide starts it weeks on Saturday.

KM's right..You didnt hear a word he said..He said No more requests for listings PERIOD..

> my Saint Louis

No, which proves you didn't read what I said. (I was speaking English, wasn't I?)

What I said was:

NO MORE POSTING REQUESTS FOR SCHEDULES.

IF SOMEONE POSTS A SCHEDULE, I DO NOT WANT YOUR REPLY TO CONSIST OF "PLEASE ALSO POST (WHATEVER DAY)".

I ALSO DO NOT WANT NEW POSTS THAT SAY "WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST SCHEDULES FROM (THIS CITY) OR (THIS DATE)."

BOTH OF THESE WASTE DATABASE SPACE AND I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE THE MANAGEMENT TELL ME WE TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE.

I'm sorry for yelling, but apparently this is the only way to get the point across.
______________
