research study by WMGM and WJSE

WMGM and WJSE did an audience research study. It was at the Clarion in EHT. They had people listen to music and complete a survey. They were asked what would make them switch from WZXL to WMGM. interesting. I wonder if they are worried. They people who completed the survey received $80 in cash in an envelope before they left.

When I was at ZXL, they did that all the time. It's standard, especially when you have a relatively new PD, make music changes, have new owners (especially then) and make some personnel changes.

I don't know what anyone is thinking, but it's more good, smart radio than it would be "worried."

When Pamal's 107.1 WXPK "The Peak" signed on back in April 2004 with their AAA format I was invited to attend a simular study....In fact I was asked again about 2 years later.....I never ended up going since the study was held across the Tappan Zee in Westchester....I don't think they were offering money but they did have free food.

What if they were listeners to another Classic Rock station, such as WMGK or WCHR-FM?

WCHR-FM is barely 20 miles north of Absecon and WMGK is essentially a local station in Hammonton...

People in Atlantic County don't care about The Hawk, which is essentially a North Jersey station.
People in Atlantic County don't care about WMGK, it's a Philly station.

BTW - the music test was NOT conducted by WMGM and WJSE. Surprise!

would not be surprised at all if that was conducted by "some other" Atlantic City radio group.

Hmmm... now who in the market would be worried about losing shares.... ??? I'm seeing a name that rhymes with larry... and barry... can't quite get it...

It may or may not be The Shark, or the name that rhymes with Larry. What it is, and has been, is typical radio station research, and has been going on long before I worked at ZXL starting in 1994.

People may, or may not be "worried" about losing share, but this is normal procedure.
