I'm wanting to learn and connect with some schools that stream only, lacking an over the air option. This includes streamers that are on the college cable TV system, supplement with closed circuit and part 15. In addition, if you only have a closed circuit or cable system your signal, I'd like to research you as well even if you don't stream.
Studies say Internet Radio listening is growing by leaps and bounds, but those I have spoken with are having big issues attracting the listeners and the funds to keep going. I have reached out to folks that have have actually had studies done and as few as 1 in 200 students are regular listeners. What alarms me is these stations do good marketing on campus.
My study of this is to locate answers through sharing confidentially. I contend logic says the college radio station that exclusively is not over the air but streams and perhaps enjoys a closed circuit system, part 15 and/or cable TV audio on a channel are a good target to look at. College radio is very targeted programming to a very tech savvy group. If streaming only stations have a good shot at success it is the college station since it is easy to market to, is likely formatted well for the target audience and that audience is likely more inclined to stream internet radio more than any other group of listeners.
