Resetting the Lamptimer for DST?

Will you have beans 'n rice available during petition signing?
Yes indeedy! And the old Gringo will be serving up some tasty menudo for signers with iron stomachs. We must derail Pacific Daylight Time and save those Ancient Modulation stations with low nighttime power.

Careful how you talk about Menudo around me! In 1977, Edgardo Diaz asked me to leave WQII and WSRA to co-manage his boys new group. If I had accepted, I'd be visiting the Tolleson/Goodyear/Litchfield Park CMSA in my Lear Jet.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda..and $5.00 gets you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. But, what the heck...you're more than welcome to attend the petition Sign-a-Rama.... even if you take the hound. Nurse Jeff will pick you up at the Buckeye Rexall in our '76 Gremlin.

I'm just imaging the Old Gringo being driven there in his Cadillac by his consigliere - José.

In the spirit of the Media Hut, I have sold the Cadillac and replaced it with a restored Imperial land yacht. It is driven by a guy I picked up at the border, and his bunch of rectangular packages all fit in the trunk.

The media hut might soon need to take up a collection to bail the old gringo out of jail! He unknowingly is being used as a drug mule . YIIIIKES!

Be sure not to confuse a "mule" with an "ass".

As a newbie to the Phoenix forum, I have no idea what the hell is going on in here.
Neither do we, but we have been doing it for over a decade... but of course, a decade is one small step for a lamptimer.

I duh'no... those things look like packages of fresh ground coffee to me, but he seems to think they are part of a doorway and keeps calling them "keys".

Only a decade? I've been on this board and it's Phoenix predecessors for almost 25 years, and I still have no clue what's going on.

The problem is that you need to take the one-week seminar, "Lamptimers in the Desert" at the Media Hut. Without that experience or the equivalent, "Working for KRUX, KRIZ or KUPD in the early 70's", it is hard to grasp the nuances of this subject, let alone appreciate the retro elegance of a Gremlin.

When I was newer to the Radiodiscussions site, I turned to the Wikipedia entry for KAZG for help. Amusingly, it references and helped explain "The Lumberyard" and the "Lamptimer" references as well as the god-like status of Steve Goddard. As far as Dr. Akbar and Nurse Jeff, the Buckeye Media Hut and the obsession with AMC vehicles, the Gremlin in particular, much still remains a mystery, but I often silently lurk and read these threads without comment, but with keen interest.

Dr. Akbar, I know you and Nurse Jeff are extremely busy dealing with the huge crowds lined up day and night waiting for their turn to sign the all important petition to save our daytimers, but could you come up with a quickie seminar, "The Do's and Dont's of Border Crossing" to keep the old gringo and others safe?

Note to the Old Gringo: You don't wanna step through the kind of doorway those keys open!

The Old Gringo may safely cross the non-existent border anytime in his Imperial Crown Coupe, provided his destination is Buckeye. In addition to dishing up bowls of menudo at the petition Sign-a-thon, he may have some of the Media Hut keys we've misplaced.

Do "listening to KRUX, KRIZ, or KUPD in the mid '70s" and driving my folks' 1973 Gremlin to MCC count as prerequisites?

I'm starting to think more like requirements.

Those of us here in Baja Arizona may have a challenge with getting into that seminar.
