Responding to separate posts

How do you respond to separate posts? You used to be able to hit the "quote" button on each post and then "reply" on one of them but that doesn't work anymore. Thanks!
 
I just hit reply on the first post I want to respond to, which adds its text in the compose window, and add my comments. I then set my cursor on the next line in the compose window and hit reply on the next post I want to quote, and write my next reply. Repeat as desired. I usually will delete parts of the quoted text not relevant to my reply.
