One would think so. The naysaying is from the belief that he'll want to protect the turf he built. But in his new role, he can go in many directions. Four come to mind right away: 1) Protect built turf, 2) move in with the need to prove he's worthy of the role, 3) move up with some fresh ideas he's been holding onto, or 4) make changes because the times call for it. Many more approaches... don't want to pretend to begin to know what's in his head or behind any possible motives up his sleeve. He was promoted because it was believed he could do the job, for whatever that comes to mean. Fun to speculate though.
