Rest in Peace: Mike Riley

Per Joe Chille's Facebook page:
Mike Riley ,overnight DJ at WJYE, has passed away.... I've met this man several times while working and recall a courtesy stint at WJJL, among other places. Interesting guy for sure, and he will be missed.

More details likely to come out...

You'd think that they'd acknowledge his passing on their website, or at least take down his bio. Nothing. Not a word. Classless is the word that comes to mind, Town Square.

I too saw Joe Chille's comments on his Facebook page and his tribute to Mike Riley, who spent 20 years at WJYE. Joe's Facebook tribute was a genuine reflection on their friendship and appreciation of Riley's professionalism. Rest In Peace, Mike.

Mike's first job in Buffalo radio was as a local host on Morning Edition on WBFO in the early to mid 1980s. Mike had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. We lost touch after he left. But it was gratifying to know that Mike was able to hold on in this tumultuous business of ours and enjoy a 20+ year career as the overnight host on WJYE. I'm just so saddened by this. Rest in peace.

And Town Square still hasn't posted anything on the WJYE website, or removed his bio.
