RESUME HELP

I think your better bet would be to find a REALLY good friend/mentor who is a PD/GM type and get them to critique it for you.
And remember, for best results (and I learned this from the corporate non-radio world) REWRITE your resume to target the specific job you are applying for. That's right. If you send out 5 resumes, they should all be a little different, and slanted towards the opening.

+1. Great advice!

Make it top-heavy with relevant experience and skills. Employment/experience section doesn't have to be in chronological order as long as the recent, relevant stuff is featured up front.

Careful not to dig into the thesaurus too much. Let the language of the resume read naturally. If you produced something, say you produced it, voiced it, created it, directed it, etc. Flowery language seems cool but can often take away from the readability of a resume.

Best of luck!

I would also add, be careful with dates. Ageism is still alive and well in every HR department in the country. It's good to say you earned a degree in communications. Saying you earned it in 1980 pegs you as a geezer. You also don't have to list every job back to Marconi, just the most recent/relevant as mentioned above.

Good luck!

Age discrimination is there big time. Today's youth is even worse than yesteryear's. It shows up on these boards all the time... Wow, if you graduated from college in 1980 you'd be 52 or 53, that is not old...
