"Retired" by CC in 2009 ... now just up on Live365 .... need MIKE help !

Just started a station on Live365, oldies music 50's and 60's. So far, just playing songs ... because I do not have a microphone. Need suggestions on what microphone I should get ... under $100 (way under if possible) :D ----- doing this not to make money but for something to do ... (senior citizen with plenty of time on my hands and missing radio ... thank you CC .... :'( )

:D --- Thanks, stewie, for the suggestions. BTW ... I love your "I'm a radio guy that got out of the business before it sucked the life out of me." .... I hung on until CC decided that DJ's suck-and-that-I-must-go in 2009 after 42 years.

I use an Audio Technica AT 20-20...Sells new for about 100.00...but I got mine on EBAY with a shock mount for 50.00..it's been flawless for over two years now on my show...It is phantom power ..so you will need a mixer that has that feature..Phantom powered mics seem more crisp than standard vocal mics...I was using a middle of the road Peavey mic that sounded fine...until I plugged in the AT 2020...Major difference...can't imagine what some of those 500.00 and up mics sound like..

The AT2020 is a nice microphone (http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technic...ie=UTF8&qid=1372889391&sr=8-1&keywords=AT2020). It's well built.
It's on par with the MXL V67G mic I referenced in the earlier post. To my ears, the MXL V67G sounds better but sound is subjective of course. You'll probably be happy with both. All of the aforementioned mics are much better sounding than a non phantom stage mic.

I'm a past CC jock as well, no 42 years under my belt though. :)

Haven't seen it mentioned (or if it was I missed it), the Behringer B-1 is also a decent mic for the price. It also requires phantom power.

There re several MXl mics I would love to have..especially the ribbon models..I had never used or heard of Behringer until I was given a new small six channel mixer made by them..has phantom power tons of digital effects..hi and low Z inputs and has really been a great little addition to my small studio...without it I could not do my show as I run the AT 20-20 through it into the PC..as well as my Teac cassette deck and Teac A6300 Reel to reel..
