Interesting that you have the Bangor stations listed
Eastern, rather than Atlantic, time. Any particular reason,
since Nova Scotia is on Atlantic time?

I also don't see any evening newscast--network or local--
on WVII; I thought ABC had 100% clearance of the Smith/
Reasoner newscast by the fall of 1972.

Finally, I see "Beat The Clock" on the CTV listings. Had the
similar "Anything You Can Do" been canceled by this time?
(I know that here in NC, WGHP Greensboro/Winston-Salem/
High Point was playing it out at 6:30 and would move ABC News
into that slot in June.)

(1) At the time, the Bangor programs were fed via videotapes that were recorded at Chamcook in SW New Brunswick (near the border) and in turn were bicycled, so I suspect the programs are delayed from a few days from their original broadcast in Bangor, but I can't say by how much. According to some 1976 Maritime editions in my archives, the Maritime cablecos switched to a direct microwave relay by then (at first, TVG just listed WLBZ and WEMT, with WABI's listings added that fall).
(2) From some Googling, I can say that what CTV aired was The New Beat the Clock, which for most of its 1969-74 run, was produced at Montreal's CTV affiliate, CFCF; the show was syndied in the States. At the time of the listing, Gene Wood was host, with CFCF staff announcer Nick Holenreich as his announcer. Anything You Can Do, which Wood hosted in its first season (Canadian actor Don "Charlie Farquharson" Harron, with CJOH Ottawa personality Bill Luxton as his announcer, took over in season 2), ended sometime in 1974, but I haven't found a date on it. As with Beat the Clock, it was shown on CTV north of the border, and syndied Stateside.

When the tapes were recorded, timely material, such as news, were edited out.

Notice in WLBZ's listings that they also had no news, including the Today show and John Chancellor.

And WEMT didn't have news in their listings either...probably no loss given their El Cheapo rep :D
