10 PM Dick Cavett
10:30 U.S. Open Highlights
...Cavett had taped a full hour with Groucho, but because ABC had already committed to air the U.S. Open coverage, only a half-hour show was presented on this night, with the full hour being run on September 5th...

Interesting, no Brady Bunch or other ABC prime time comedic fare was on that night. Had ABC premiered that lineup yet? Or was it later in 1969?

"The Brady Bunch" did not debut until later that fall.

No, "The Brady Bunch" debuted in late September. ABC's
fall 1969 Friday-night lineup (times Eastern)

7:30 Let's Make A Deal (moved to Saturday 7:30 in January
1970, replaced by "The Flying Nun")
8 PM Brady Bunch
8:30 Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (canceled in January, replaced
by "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir")
9 PM Here Come The Brides
10 PM Jimmy Durante Presents The Lennon Sisters Hour (moved to
Saturday 9:30 in January--apparently somebody at ABC thought that
putting the Lennons after their original mentor, Lawrence Welk,
would boost their ratings; it didn't--"Love, American Style" took
over this timeslot in January and Engelbert Humperdinck got the Saturday
slot in the summer of 1970)

ABC's usual Friday-night lineup in the summer of '69 was

7:30 Let's Make A Deal
8 PM John Davidson Show
9 PM Judd For The Defense
10 PM Dick Cavett Show
