FRIDAY AUGUST 12th,1977(6th birthday BTW)

WAGA--Channel 5(CBS)

8:00 PM Keane Brothers

I watched this show and I think the younger brother played the drums and the oldest brother played the guitar if I'm not mistakened. Wonder whatever became of them?

9:00 PM Movie--"Smile,Jenny,You're Dead"

My guess would be local possibly. This movie from 1974 was the pilot movie that would lead to the series Harry O which starred David Janassen.

Why did WAGA carry Ironside in the late night hours? I know that in San Antonio,Ironside was on in the afternoons on KSAT when it first came into reruns and then it moved to 11:00 PM and Midnight at night starting around 1976 or so. I didn't know that Ironside wasn't that big of a hit in reruns since it had been a major hit during its original run from 1967 to 1975.

Now my guess would now be CBS that showed this movie because Harry O reruns appeared on CBS's late night schedule during the late 70's and early 80's. The thought occurred to me after the fact.

Ironside wasn't much of a hit in reruns; for that matter, neither
was Marcus Welby, M.D., the number-one show of 1970-71.
WAGA had that, too, in the afternoons in 1975-76, without
much success. As a rule, hour-long dramas tend to do less
well in reruns than do sitcoms, a reason you see so many
shows like Law & Order on cable.
