54 had a pretty good schedule.

Even here, in 1986, the networks weren't programming Friday nights strongly. Both 'A-Team' and 'Scarecrow' were past their primes at this point.

Even here, in 1986, the networks weren't programming Friday nights strongly. Both 'A-Team' and 'Scarecrow' were past their primes at this point.

Yeah, both series had just started what would be their final seasons at this point. Up until 1985, CBS had a pretty solid and stable Friday night lineup, with Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, and Falcon Crest; in the '85-86 TV season, the Eye tried out different series in the Friday 8pm slot, with little to no success--Charlie & Company (a sitcom starring Flip Wilson and Gladys Knight, and featuring a young Jaleel White and Kristoff St. John as their sons), a revival of The Twilight Zone, and a couple of failed midseason replacement series. It was until the following year (1987) that CBS stabilized their Friday night lineup once again (at least for a couple of years), with the addition of Beauty and the Beast (Linda Hamilton/Ron Pearlman) in the 8pm slot.
