"La guerra de los planetas" on channel 9 must be "War Of The Worlds", probably the early 1950s version.

It is amazing how much Spanish I am managing to learn

I assume that all the channels listed were independents (somewhat analgous to TVW7 and STW9 in Perth, Australia before NEW10 began operations in 1988 and 7 and 9 became affiliates of, respectively, the Seven Network and the National Nine Network).

The only possible exception would be Channel 7 which had by this time identified itself as Argentina Televisora Color, or ATC for short. So would it be safe to assume that Channel 7 was, and still is, the ATC network's flagship station?

Exactly, Channel 7 is the flagship station of Argentina's public TV network. It stopped being known as ATC in 2000, however. Now they call themselves as "TV Pública". The rest of the channels are seen outside Buenos Aires either by cable or by terrestrial affiliates, who combine network programming with local news and public affairs shows. Channel 9, however, is only available outside Buenos Aires on cable.
