About Channel 40 - Did Channel 40 go dark in the early 80's as well as the late 80's. Someone told me they went dark in 1983 and back on the air in 1984. ANy listings from the 1981 to 1984 time period in this market?

I don't have anything from the early '80s; in fact, I don't
recall seeing their listings in TV Guide between 1980 and
1984. I do remember when the station, now known as
WAXA, was added to our cable in '84 and that it was the
original Fox affiliate in Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville.

BTW, if you're getting your information from Wikipedia, I can
tell you that I don't remember seeing "Super Password"
on Ch. 40 until 1984, which is also the year it debuted
("Password Plus" went off in 1982 and Ch. 4 nearly always
carried that); Wikipedia mentions Ch. 40 carrying "Super
Password."

If anyone else has a TV Guide or newspaper listing that I've
overlooked, I won't mind at all if they put it here.
