"10:00 Sing Along with Mitch (c/letters are the topic this week...I see Bob McGrath listed as one of the soloists, is this the one from Sesame Street?)"

Yes, it is.

He made his national TV debut with Mitch Miller in 1959, was with Mitch throughout his NBC run (they stayed close friends until Miller passed in 2010)...then became a recording artist of some note, singing traditional Irish ballads (at one point in the 60s he was one of the biggest sellers in Japan). He joined the Children's Television Workshop for the premiere of Sesame Street in 1969 and has been a part of the show ever since. He's one of the two longest running human characters on the show (Susan, played by Loretta Long, is the other).

Had a chance to meet him and interview him. He's a very kindly, gentle and genuine man who in real life is much like the character he portrays on television. Bellieve it or not, he celebrated his 80th birthday this past summer.

The Greenville Christmas Parade may have been a pooled simulcast among the stations in the market with one anchor (Bill Krieger) on all stations carrying the event.

Also, "Bob Hope's Chrysler Theatre" was an NBC show, so I found it odd that WSOC-9 (the primary NBC affiliate) would pass on it, which allowed WBTV-3 to pick it up.

...as I recall, Ford's daytime show originated from the facilities of KGO-TV/7 San Francisco; Pittsburg is a suburb of San Francisco, making it easy for the Pop Warner team to make the trip to the studio. Ford was born in Bristol, Tennessee, which would have made it very strange if WCYB-TV/5 had rejected the show ;D ...

At the time Ernie had the largest number of clearances of any
ABC daytime show (about 150 stations, IIRC), even more than
such longtime hits as "Queen For A Day" and "Who Do You Trust?".

Ernie orginated the show in San Francisco because he had moved
to Carmel and didn't want to go back and forth to Los Angeles.
At the time only ABC had facilities (KGO) where he could tape his
show, so he moved it from NBC to ABC.

And BTW, the state line between Tennessee and Virginia runs down
the middle of Main Street in Bristol; Ernie was born on the Tennessee
side, otherwise he might have become "Virginia Ernie Ford."

7:00 Wyatt Earp "The Assassins"

Even though this is syndicated Wyatt Earp, I wonder if this particular episode was bumped or delayed--considering the event in Dallas 10 days earlier that would have still been very fresh in everyone's minds at the time of this schedule.

And while on that subject--anyone know what the main stories of the network newscasts would have been by Dec. 2; i.e., could there have been more JFK assassination aftermath stories featured on the news 10 days after that tragic Nov. 22?

...well, at the very least, there was the lingering trauma caused by the assassination, if not further details about it. Walter Cronkite later claimed that he personally scheduled the Alexander Kendrick report about The Beatles (that had already been aired on the CBS Morning News with Mike Wallace of November 22nd, a few hours before the assassination) for the CBS Evening News of December 10th because he felt it was finally time for some lighter pieces to run...

Bob used to host one of our telethons in Vancouver, and sometimes he would bring on to the stage Big Bird's "Canadian Cousin".
